I'm writing these little intros over a decade after I wrote and recorded the CD. I never listen to my own music so it's been ages since I've thought about this song. I kind of created it on the spot. By that, I mean I didn't have a pen and paper. Just a guitar and a chord progression and a groove and my voice and a bunch of vowels that started to form words and eventually coherent lines. The lyric came out of the music. I usually get the truth that way. Considering the song now, it sure is vulnerable. I don't know that I'd have the guts to put it out there now. But I'm glad I did then. I needed it.

My Request
Words and music by Katherine Wheatley
I tell you no lie
No moment goes by
No moment when I
Don't think about this
Even though someone else loves you
I'm still the one who loves you best
Take your time, but don't cross that line
Return to me is my request
Could be combing my hair
Maybe mending a tear
That's when I'll say a prayer
That you'll remain true
Even though someone else loves you
I'm still the one who loves you best
Take your time, but don't cross that line
Return to me is my request
